Nicholas Moore, M.D.

Primary Care Sports Medicine Specialist

Nicholas Moore is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a major in Nutritional Sciences, followed by medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  He is board certified in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, completing Family Medicine Residency at Phoenix Baptist Hospital and a Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Connecticut. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has been selected an Hour Detroit Magazine Top Doc for 3 years running.

He sees all athletic-related injuries and has extensive experience with concussion management, diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures.  His clinical interests include chronic tendinopathy, Tenex percutaneous tenotomy, Sonex ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release, regenerative medicine including platelet-rich plasma and stem cell therapy.  He has produced multiple research projects and has been a speaker at a host of national sports medicine conferences, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and American College of Sports Medicine. He is faculty for the Providence Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship and Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Since beginning practice, Dr. Moore has been active in sports medicine coverage and has honed his diagnostic skills through the evaluation of thousands of athletic injuries spanning high school, as well as Division I collegiate, professional and Olympic athletics. Most recently, Dr. Moore served as a team physician for the Detroit Red Wings.  In addition, he recently spent time volunteering at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee and is part of the medical team caring for Team USA’s 2022 Winter Olympians.  He is a medical member for USA Weightlifting and USA Wrestling.  He currently covers multiple community sports, including the Milford high schools, Lakeland High School, Hartland High School, Walled Lake Northern High School, the Detroit Rugby Club, and the Detroit Roller Derby Girls.  He also is active in event coverage, including marathons, obstacle course races, Cirque du Soleil, Crossfit competitions, combat sports, and the Michigan Pro Soccer Combine.

Dr. Moore enjoys getting to know his patients and is passionate about establishing strong doctor-patient relationships.  He believes that by focusing on treatment of the individual rather than their diagnosis, we can significantly impact outcomes.  He is married with 3 children and enjoys Crossfit, mountain-biking, basketball, and playing the drums.
