Eric Halama PA-C was born in Detroit, MI and raised in the Metro Detroit area. He completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University majoring in Kinesiology and German. During his time at Michigan State, he spent a significant amount of time volunteering with the Michigan State University Adaptive Sports and Recreation Club where he adapted sports to athletes and other fellow students with disabilities. He also spent 1 year studying abroad in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany for an academic year.
After his undergraduate studies, he worked as a rehabilitation tech for 3 years at a physical therapy clinic. After gaining years of clinical experience working as a rehabilitation tech, he decided to attend Wayne State University earning his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Having graduated PA school in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Eric began working in orthopedic surgery/sports medicine in Fairbanks, Alaska for 3 years gaining extensive experience in general orthopedics with a focus on shoulder pathology. While working in Alaska, Eric obtained a certificate of added qualifications in orthopedic surgery (CAQ-OS) through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Eric moved back home to Michigan in 2024 to continue his career working in Orthopedic surgery/sports medicine. Eric enjoys spending his time outside of the clinic hiking, traveling, and playing ice hockey.
